This piece did not advance the influence of Varese because, like much electronic music of that time, it is a procession of effects and recordings on magnetic tape which never quite get around to having much shape or form. Because of the nature of the medium (to an extent) and isolation from other sounds there is a sense of isolation and being "of its time". In essence, passé.

Has this ever been sampled in by any chance? Just imagine a modern day rave track being played in some warehouse in Berlin or a field at Glastonbury and a group of people dancing to this with drum beat behind it. Not realising that this was an absolute breakthrough in Musical History.

i have been listening to this album. since it came out. here in minneapolis. alot punk rockers in thier 50's. have this . i sometimes put my cat to sleep. by playing this. she loves it.

Overrated junk, truly. An infant with zero playing experience could do this. Just bang on the early drone synth, and there's your song. It's lame.

If you understand his biography completely you just cannot listen to all of this in one go. Its total emotional impact is extreme, in particular the dark looming sounds around 25 minutes and what follows.

I can't say the sounds aren't interesting and atmospheric. It has strangeness. Unike any number of random sounds (even scraps of music from a passing care) we might hear in a day or in an urban landscape in just a matter of minutes, perhaps, which can be interesting and may indeed signify events, near and far...these, taken as a collection, as admittedly sounds and not music, they have no context or implication. As they are contained in a recording we ask why one follows the other...some are natural, some are electronic...other than as a historical product of an experimental time I can't think why we should care about this particular collection of sounds.

I have to be honest : Utter Garbage.
